South East Skipping Challenge

South East Skipping Challenge is back!!!

Join us in a district-level effort to skip for good cause. For every 20 skips that we accumulate, our corporate sponsor, Lam Soon Singapore will exchange it for a bowl of Natural Organic Brown Rice to be donated to our needy residents. Halloween is celebrated traditionally by kids and youths getting into different costumes for a “Trick or Treat” Ideally, they are in scary or monster-looking costumes like zombies, vampires, Dracula, ghosts, werewolves, witches, wizards, etc. However for the past couple of years, costumes have evolved. Some people dress up like celebrities like Michael Jackson or Madonna, angels, ninja warriors, cartoon characters like Mickey Mouse, Spiderman, Superman, The Hulk, Batman, Fantastic 4, Hello Kitty or their favourite animals.

Linear Green Inaugural Welcome Party 20th June 2009!

We were shielded by the harsh sun this sunny Saturday at Linear Green!
Seems like we are going to have a great party!
Mr Khoo and Mr Cheong starts the preparation lining the chairs for the VIPs as well as the residents.
The plague ready for unveiling by Senior Minister Prof S Jayakumar in our new RC centre.
In case you don't already know where it is located, it is at Blk 220A.
First the ice came...
then the stage people....
NEA was next with their boxes of Aedes mosquitoes and how to prevent Dengue Fever. (don't worry, they are very secure in those boxes ) We checked! :P
Mr Khoo and Mr Cheong are very busy, and they seem to be EVERYWHERE!
The balloons you see around our estate is done up by them and Mr Martin....
...who can manage a smile even while doing a pretty complicated move!
The SCDF came in soon after to set up their exhibit on how to put out a fire, as well as how to administer CPR when needed.

Mr Lee is welcomed by the members of Linear Green RC, as well as grassroot leaaders from other constituencies.

However, due to overwhelming response, we seem to be running out very fast! We are in the middle of consolidating whatever we have left and for residents that have left messages on our FaceBook pages, we will keep you posted.

Linear Green 3rd RC meeting

Meeting started on time at 8pm.

1. Enquired about Ants issue brought up by MingHao and any residents with similar issues can contact East Coast Town Council at 1800 4449549

2. We also enquired about the centipedes and pest issues of which was caused by the new soil and thus attracted new 'tenants'. The Town Council will address to this by frequent pesticides. This problem will pass its phase within 6 months

3. We know that all of us have been experiencing issues with signal strength for our mobile and ECTC is working closely with all the Telcos to expand the base station bandwidth for better signal. Currently they are located at the carparks.

Other items on the agenda is pertaining to the Welcome Party and how to make it a great experience for the residents.

Resident DVD suggested on our blog that any unsold tickets to be consolidated and create a 'hotline' for those residents to call and arrange ticket pickup who missed out when our RC members went door-to-door. Will arrange and update soon on how to get the tickets!

Linear Green inaugural breakfast session with MP Lee Yi Shyan

It was a cheery Sunday, and all RC members gathered at the coffeeshop of Blk 219.

We were all there by 8am eager with anticipation, the arrival of our MP Lee Yi Shyan

Perhaps it's already an open secret that Mr Lee is an avid user of Facebook, and his 'weapon' of choice? The BlackBerry.

Almost immediately after sitting down with us, he whips out his BB and starts his first mobile upload of the day.
Mdm Teoh, our Chairman, starts the ball rolling with our orders of vegetarian delights.
Mr Lee with Katherine, one of our RC members, while we too, did some mobile uploads and twittering of our own :)
The vegetarian spread, complete with Mr Lee's kopi-c siew dai.
We were both honored and embarrassed while Mr Lee begins to serve us the food!

Mr Khoo and Audrey listened intently while Mr Lee talks about some manpower issues.
Mr Lee had to run 4 tables this morning! yes, there are THAT many RC members in Linear Green!

We will out from 830pm Tuesday 2nd June, and Wednesday 3rd June to sell the tickets to all residents.

First meeting

Get to meet the newly minted RC members.

Most of us were first timers in being with the RC, but we had the help of many others who were ex RC whom moved in to Linear Green from other estates.

This meeting, we got to know that we are organizing our first party for the residents on the 20th June.

We got ourselves into teams, sorted out the details, recce'ed the places suitable for the party and the meeting ended with a good idea of how we will make it happen!
